I. Project Overview

The Grande Logistics and Trade Park in Lilongwe, the capital of Malawi, is a major local import-export warehousing and distribution park. Its perimeter wall spans a long distance, with many floating and idle people around, and wild animals often approach the wall. The park's original plain wire mesh and infrared alarm equipment had clear shortcomings: the wire mesh only physically blocked without warning, while the infrared devices frequently false-alarmed due to rainy-season rain, shrubs and animal interference. Local power supply is unstable, thunderstorms are frequent, security patrol coverage is incomplete, and the risk of cargo theft is high. After comparing solutions, the park chose the Antongruida EF-III Pulse Electronic Fence to complete the perimeter transformation of the entire park.

II. On-Site Pain Points

Complex climate: the local climate is hot and humid year-round, with heavy rainfall and frequent lightning in the rainy season and corrosive soil, so ordinary wires and insulators easily rust and leak electricity;

Unstable power supply: temporary power cuts at the park are frequent, and security equipment fails when powered off, leaving protection gaps;

Limited local maintenance capability: the area lacks professional security maintenance personnel, so the equipment must have a low failure rate and simple operation to reduce after-sales costs;

Time-based protection needs: during the day, when people and trucks move frequently, low-voltage warning is required; after closing at night, stronger deterrent protection is needed.

III. On-Site Configuration

The Antongruida EF-III Pulse Electronic Fence system is installed in sections along the park wall, with independent management for each zone:

Front-end protection accessories: anti-corrosion alloy high-voltage wires, thickened insulators and aluminum-alloy posts, with dedicated lightning-protection grounding components, suited to the local rainy, lightning-prone and highly corrosive outdoor environment; protection rating IP66 for long-term outdoor use;

Power-fail endurance: each main unit is equipped with a built-in backup battery that can keep working for more than 8 hours after a sudden power outage, ensuring normal perimeter warning during the outage.

IV. Practical Advantages for African Parks

Weather-resistant and durable, suited to tropical outdoors

The whole set of front-end accessories is optimized for rust, water and lightning protection. The wires are more corrosion-resistant than ordinary carbon steel, and the insulators are less likely to absorb moisture and leak, so equipment failures are fewer in rainy and sun-exposed conditions, reducing on-site accessory replacement.

Interference filtering, fewer unnecessary dispatches

A built-in environmental filtering algorithm distinguishes human climbing and wire cutting from animals and swaying branches. Compared with the original infrared devices, daily false alarms drop significantly, so security staff no longer repeatedly check areas with no abnormality.

Simple operation, suited to local maintenance

The modular zoned design means a fault only triggers a single-zone indication, making problems quick to locate. The main-unit interface is simple; local security staff can, after short training, handle power on/off, high/low voltage switching and fault-record queries, without relying on Chinese technicians for remote handling of simple issues.

Time-based voltage, balancing operations and personal safety

In daytime it switches to low-voltage warning mode, posing no hazard to staff and loading vehicles approaching; at night it switches to high-voltage deterrent mode, improving interception of climbing and theft, adapting to the park's day-and-night operating states.

V. Actual Results

After the system went into service, illegal climbing and cargo theft at the Grande park perimeter dropped significantly. Across several consecutive rainy and thunderstorm seasons, the fence main unit and front-end wires showed no large-scale leakage or short-circuit faults. Zoned alarm positioning is clear, so security staff go directly to the alarm point instead of patrolling the whole line. The power-fail endurance solves local security failure caused by outages.

The whole system adapts to Malawi's local climate, power supply and manpower conditions, runs stably and has moderate maintenance costs, providing a deployable perimeter-security reference for similar warehousing and trade parks in Africa.
